Guidelines

Hello there. This is where NE club members post write ups that have to do with insights into the cultural heritage aspects of Singapore. Please note the following guidelines:

1. HOUSE SYSTEM

Articles
  • Write-ups are to be done on a weekly basis where J2s and IP4s from each house take turns to reflect on a certain 'Topic-of-the-week'.

  • J2s and IP4s: Please note that while submission of these write ups are to rotated among you [within each house], IP1-IP3s and J1s are to share their views with you also. Make sure your juniors help with some points in your articles as well.

Topical Questions
  • A weekly topical question is also given and open to all.

How to win points
  • A point system ensures submission of these write ups and questions to be regular.
=> Each entry from each house member chalks up 1 point, while the 'best entry' that is to be voted gets 3 additional points.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Each house submits one article per week, but all house members can send in their answers to the topical questions. {1 per person}

  • With more points for your house, NE club members in your house get priority in certain NE opportunities

  • Please email the articles in word document format to your house coordinators or vivienleung88@msn.com
    [Deadline: every Sunday 10pm]

2. STYLE AND LANGUAGE
  • Please be mindful of using appropriate language in discussing our topics, especially those which are sensitive in nature.

  • For articles: Feel free to submit either in full-essay format or point form
[Just make sure everyone knows what you are saying! =) ]

  • Do include pictures, clips and links where possible to enhance the quality of your write up and make it an enjoyable yet insightful read

  • Try to limit the article to about 500-1000 words and as much as possible, don't "copy and paste" from sites. Hint: Think about getting individual reflections from each house member and including them in your article.
